German black/thrash veterans Desaster are back with a vengeance. Their tenth full-length album, “Kill All Idols,” arrives August 22nd via Metal Blade Records, marking another chapter in the band’s unholy crusade through the extreme metal underground.

Formed back in 1989 and revered for their relentless mix of black, thrash, and punk, the band have taken their time between releases, with four years passing since their previous effort “Churches Without Saints.” But judging by early impressions—and especially the blistering lead single “Towards Oblivion”—the wait has paid off. The new track is a furious nod to humanity’s self-destructive nature, blending speed metal energy with the band’s signature ferocity.

Founding guitarist Infernal promises that “Kill All Idols” continues the band’s classic sound while pushing further into their punk roots than ever before. Expect epic moments alongside raw, high-octane aggression. Lyrically, the album takes aim at hollow hero worship, challenging listeners to think critically in a world obsessed with power and wealth.

“Kill All Idols” was recorded in Desaster’s rehearsal space and mixed and mastered in Oakland, California. The band describes the final result as one of their most satisfying studio experiences to date.
