The German black/thrash veterans Desaster have unleashed their new single, “Throne of Ecstasy”, taken from their upcoming tenth studio album, Kill All Idols, which lands on August 22nd via Metal Blade Records. It’s been four years since their last full-length, “Churches Without Saints”, and the band is back with an album that’s already turning heads in the metal underground.

“Throne of Ecstasy” captures everything fans have come to expect from Desaster — razor-sharp black/thrash riffing, headbang-worthy mid-tempo breaks, and chaotic energy throughout. Founding guitarist Infernal revealed that the song was born from an unplanned jam session and came together effortlessly, making it a true reflection of the band’s raw spontaneity.

The new album was recorded in the band’s own rehearsal space with their longtime live mixer Jan “Janosch” Gensheimer, and later mixed and mastered by Greg Wilkinson (Autopsy) at Earhammer Studio in Oakland, California. According to the band, Wilkinson managed to bring a fresh edge to their sound while staying true to their gritty roots.

“Kill All Idols” spans ten tracks, blending furious blackened thrash with touches of death metal. Vocals from Sataniac remain brutal and varied, while Infernal’s riff work continues to fuse traditional thrash with darker, blackened atmospheres. The album delivers exactly what long-time fans want, while pushing the band’s legacy forward.

“Throne of Ecstasy” and previously released single “Towards Oblivion” are now available for streaming, giving fans a fierce preview of what’s to come.
