Professionally filmed footage from Deicide’s performance at the 2026 Leyendas del Rock festival has been made available online. The Florida death metal veterans played the Spanish event on August 8 at Polideportivo Municipal de Villena in Alicante province.

The newly circulated concert clip features three songs: “Scars Of The Crucifix,” “Dead By Dawn” and “Homage For Satan.” Rather than documenting the complete show, the video focuses on these selected performances, providing a closer look at the band’s current live setup.

The lineup includes guitarist Jadran “Conan” Gonzalez, who joined Deicide in 2025 after Kevin Quirion’s departure. Gonzalez previously played with Exmortus. Deicide’s most recent studio album, “Banished By Sin”, was released in April 2024 through Reigning Phoenix Music.

Death metal fans can watch the three-song festival video below.

Original guitarists Brian and Eric Hoffman encountered drummer Steve Asheim during their high school years. During this period, Asheim relocated his drum kit into Eric’s bedroom.

They frequently absented themselves from school, and once the Hoffmans’ parents departed for work, they would covertly return to practice covers of Slayer, Sodom, and Destruction. Deicide was formally established in Tampa, Florida, on July 21, 1987, following Brian Hoffman’s response to an advertisement placed by Glen Benton in a local music publication.

The initial bassist, identified as Ron, was dismissed due to his failure to attend rehearsals. Hoffman and his brother, in conjunction with drummer Steve Asheim, had previously performed as the band Carnage, which sought a bassist and vocalist.

Carnage primarily performed cover songs by Slayer, Exodus, Celtic Frost, and Dark Angel. Within a month of their formation, they recorded the 8-track demo “Feasting the Beast” in Benton’s garage and commenced performing sporadic shows in the Tampa region.

In 1989, Carnage recorded their second demo, titled “Sacrificial,” at Morrisound with producer Scott Burns.
