Death Fest Open Air reveals details for the 2027 edition
20 years of Death Feast Open Air. In 2027, the legendary Death Metal festival celebrates its 20th anniversary and returns to the Lower Rhine region.
From August 25-28, 2027, Blaue Lagune in Wachtendonk will become the new home of Death Feast Open Air.
2027 marks a very special year for Death Feast Open Air: The festival celebrates its 20th anniversary and, with it, a new chapter in its history begins.
Following its previous editions in Andernach, Death Feast Open Air is returning to the Lower Rhine region, an area deeply connected to the festival’s history. Long-time fans will remember the legendary Death Feast years at Schwarze Heide in Hünxe. It was the place where the festival established itself as an international meeting point for the Death Metal scene, attracting fans from all across Europe and beyond.
Twenty years later, there could only be one motto:
BACK TO THE ROOTS!
With Blaue Lagune in Wachtendonk, Death Feast Open Air has found a new home in the Lower Rhine region and a location that opens up completely new possibilities for the festival experience.
Because Blaue Lagune is much more than just a festival site. Beach, water, swimming, water skiing, camping and a wide range of leisure activities will meet three days of uncompromising Death Metal.
And that is exactly what the next chapter of Death Feast is all about:

Death Feast is not meant to be just another festival where you show up to see your favourite bands. It is meant to become a place where the international Death Metal community comes together once a year to spend a long weekend with friends.
Spend the day at the beach, jump into the water, go water skiing or hang out with friends at the campsite – and then head to the stage and celebrate Death Metal together.

At the same time, the musical foundation of Death Feast remains untouched: Death Metal, Brutal Death Metal, Deathcore, Grindcore and Slam Death Metal will remain at the uncompromising heart of the festival.
The move therefore brings together the past and the future of Death Feast Open Air.
For its 20th anniversary, Death Feast returns to the Lower Rhine, returns to familiar territory and returns to its roots – while an extraordinary new location marks the beginning of the festival’s next era.
