New Jersey’s metalcore veterans Deadguy are back with a bang, announcing the release of their first album in 30 years. Titled “Near-Death Travel Services”, the record is set to land on June 27th via Relapse Records. This marks only the band’s second full-length release, following their 1995 cult classic “Fixation on a Co-Worker”.
Leading the charge is the first single, “Kill Fee”, which delivers everything you’d expect from the band: distorted guitars, chaotic rhythms, and Tim Singer’s furious howls ripping through the noise. The music video for “Kill Fee” was directed by William Saunders, and the album itself was produced by Steve Evetts, who also worked on the band’s earlier material.
Formed in 1994, Deadguy quickly became one of the foundational names in American metalcore and mathcore. However, their initial run was short-lived — the band disbanded just a few years later in 1997, following the release of their debut album. After a long silence, they returned to the stage in 2021, but now, at last, fans are about to get their hands on some long-awaited new music.
