Megadeth guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari celebrated his birthday on January 7, and the occasion did not go unnoticed by the band’s frontman Dave Mustaine.
Mustaine took to social media to publicly congratulate the Finnish guitarist, who joined Megadeth in autumn 2023. In his message, Mustaine praised Mäntysaari both as a musician and as a person.
“Wishing the happiest of birthdays to my incredible guitarist, brother, and friend Teemu. Thank you for joining me and the guys on an incredible album and the upcoming world tour,” Mustaine wrote.
Mäntysaari’s guitar work will be heard on Megadeth’s upcoming album “Megadeth”, which is set for release on January 23. The record marks the band’s 17th studio album and has been described as their final studio effort.
Following the album’s release, Megadeth will embark on an extensive farewell tour. As part of that run, the band is scheduled to perform in Finland next summer at the Tuska Open Air festival in Helsinki.
Before joining Megadeth, Mäntysaari was best known for his work with Wintersun and Smackbound. His addition to Megadeth’s lineup has been widely praised by fans and critics alike.
