Canadian rock power trio Danko Jones are back with their 12th studio album, “Leo Rising,” set for release on November 21st, 2025 via Perception/Reigning Phoenix Music The eleven-track album is a hard-hitting dose of no-frills rock ‘n’ roll, produced once again by longtime collaborator Eric Ratz.
The band has already previewed the album with two singles: the gritty, riff-heavy “What You Need” and the swaggering “Everyday Is Saturday Night,” which dropped with a music video filmed in Osaka. Both tracks showcase the band’s signature sound — loud, tight, and packed with energy. You can listen to the tracks below and on streaming platforms.
“Leo Rising” also features a guest spot from guitar legend Marty Friedman (Megadeth, Cacophony) on “Diamond In The Rough”, adding a shredding edge to the mix. Other standouts like “Hot Fox” and “It’s A Celebration” bring high-octane grooves and anthemic choruses made for live shows and long drives.
The band recorded parts from separate locations — with bassist John Calabrese tracking from Finland and the rest completed in Toronto — but the chemistry remains undeniable. Frontman Danko Jones views their nonstop cycle of writing, touring, and recording as the band’s lifeblood, inspired by a Motörhead-like dedication to doing what they do best.
Since forming in 1996, Danko Jones have carved out a global reputation for delivering fierce, high-voltage rock. With albums like “Born A Lion,” “Fire Music,” and 2023’s “Electric Sounds,” they’ve stayed true to their mission: keep rock loud, lean, and alive.
