Danish composer and producer Danheim (Reidar Schæfer Olsen) has unveiled his new single “Yggdrasil II”. The track offers a glimpse into his upcoming album “Heimferd”, which arrives on October 31 through Season of Mist. This release marks a bold step into deeper ritual sound and ancestral rhythm.

With “Yggdrasil II”, Olsen builds a soundscape shaped by slow percussion and deep, flowing drones. The result feels less like a song and more like a ritual experience. The track connects the album’s opposing elements of stillness and movement. It captures Danheim’s signature style, which blends ancient rhythm with modern, spacious ambience.

Olsen handled every part of the song himself. He composed, performed, and produced it, staying true to Danheim’s hands-on approach. While “Heimferd” avoids a simple storyline, “Yggdrasil II” stands as its spiritual center. It reimagines the Norse World Tree not only as myth but as a symbol of continuity. The song ties together memory, land, and lineage, creating a strong emotional link for listeners.

The new single feels timeless because it uses modern production to evoke ancient energy. Its rhythmic pulse and cinematic depth make it one of Danheim’s most powerful works. For fans, “Yggdrasil II” offers a bridge between physical sound and spiritual reflection. “Heimferd” can now be preordered from here.
