The dates for Cult Of Luna‘s spring/summer 2026 European/UK tour have been confirmed, as per theprp. During that period, the Swedish post-metal band will perform on the dates listed below.
In 1998, the Umeå-based Swedish post-metal band Cult of Luna was established. Their music is comparable to that of modern bands Isis and Neurosis. Early in the new millennium, Cult of Luna signed with Earache Records and put out five albums, including the critically acclaimed “Somewhere Along the Highway” (2006) and “Salvation” (2004). Following a long hiatus, Cult of Luna made a comeback with their Indie Recordings debut “Vertikal” (2013) and companion EP “Vertikal II” (2013), both of which were influenced by Fritz Lang’s Metropolis (1927). The band’s joint space-themed album, “Mariner”, featuring American vocalist Julie Christmas, was published in 2016.
The ashes of the Umeå hardcore punk band Eclipse came together to form Cult of Luna. With the release of “Cult of Luna” (2001) and “The Beyond” (2003), they gradually gained both underground and critical acclaim; nevertheless, their ‘breakthrough’ release in 2004 is “Salvation”. “Somewhere Along the Highway”, another generally positive album, came out in 2006. “Somewhere Along the Highway”‘s “Marching to the Heartbeats” was remade by the band and published as “Heartbeats” exclusively on MySpace in August 2006. After a few days, the song was taken down from the internet. In addition to being a critique of the music industry, the goal was to determine whether file sharing would save the song.
