Cro-Mags frontman Harley Flanagan has revealed that the band is currently working on a new album, teaming up with acclaimed producer Arthur Rizk. Known for his work with Power Trip, Blood Incantation, and Cavalera Conspiracy, Rizk is helping guide the hardcore veterans as they shape their next release.

According to Flanagan, Rizk has been pushing him to step out of his comfort zone vocally — encouraging more singing instead of the usual raw shouting. While Harley admits the idea feels a little strange, he’s open to the experiment. With a laugh, he added that if it all goes south, he’ll just blame Rizk.

The upcoming record will be the follow-up to 2020’s “In the Beginning”, which marked Cro-Mags’ first studio album in two decades. The album was well-received, proving that the band still has plenty of fire left in the tank.

In other news, Flanagan’s life story is heading to the big screen in the documentary “Harley Flanagan: Wired for Chaos”, set to premiere in the U.S. on June 20, 2025. Directed by Rex Miller, the film traces Flanagan’s rise to punk fame at age 13 and explores his personal evolution over the years. It features archival footage from New York’s gritty 1970s and ’80s music scene, along with interviews from legends like Flea, Ice-T, Henry Rollins, and Glenn Danzig.
