English post-rock act Crippled Black Phoenix have dropped “Vampire Grave”, the third single from their upcoming album “Sceaduhelm”. The record arrives April 17 via Season of Mist.

Justin Greaves wrote the music, with lyrics and vocals handled by Ryan Patterson, known for his work in Fotocrime and Coliseum. His narrator has stopped arguing with life’s terms, arriving quietly at a conclusion: permanent withdrawal alongside another person, in a grave of their own choosing. The vampire concept earns its place through emotional logic rather than atmosphere. It frames total disengagement as the only rational act of devotion once the living world offers nothing worth staying for.

Belinda Kordic adds backing vocals, Robin Tow handles percussion, and Lucy Marshall contributes synths. Patterson describes “Vampire Grave” as a barn-burner driven by Greaves’ drums and guitar. He also calls Kordic’s performance one of his favorites on the album.

Finally, “Sceaduhelm” was recorded between 2023 and 2025 at three locations: Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, Kapsylen Studio in Stockholm, and House Of Foto in Louisville, Kentucky. Greaves produced the record. Iver Sandøy mixed it at Solslottet Studio in Bergen, and Magnus Lindberg mastered it in Stockholm.
