North Carolina’s doom metallers Cosmic Reaper have just dropped the video for their track “Bones”, a performance-heavy clip awash in flames and featuring a reaper’s scythe propped up beside the amps, as though it’s another guitar. The gritty visuals pair well with the band’s trademark heavy, drop-tuned doom riffs. Directed by Jeff Howlett and edited by Mark Covino, the video offers a glimpse into their intense stage presence as they gear up for their second LP, “Bleed the Wicked, Drown the Damned”.

The upcoming album was recorded and mixed by Blake Hobson at Sense 2 Recording Studio and mastered by Esben Willems at Studio Berserk. It’s slated for release on CD, LP, and digital formats via Heavy Psych Sounds on September 26th. In the weeks leading up to this, the band premiered two other singles—first “Pot of Gold” in July, which introduced guitarist Peter Snasdell and showcased their evolving sound, followed by a slow-burning, atmospheric juggernaut titled “Bloodfeather” in August.

Formed in Charlotte in 2017, the band blends stoner-doom roots with grunge and hardcore energy, drawing on influences from Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, Soundgarden, and even Snapcase. Their twin-guitar attack—now featuring Thad Collis (vocals/guitar), Garrett Garlington (bass), Jeremy Grobsmith (drums), and new member Peter Snasdell (guitar)—adds both heft and harmony to their evolving sound.

Pre-orders are available through Heavy Psych Sounds and Bandcamp in various formats, including limited edition colored vinyl, digipaks, and standard LPs. Meanwhile, “Bones” is now streaming below.
