“Corey Taylor and Exhumed’s Ross Sewage were my biggest influences” – Whitechapel’s Phil Bozeman shares his story as a metal vocalist

American deathcore heavyweights Whitechapel have announced their return to Europe with the “Burn Forever European Tour 2027.” The extensive headline run will feature support from Sylosis, 200 Stab Wounds and Tribal Gaze.

The tour marks a long-awaited European headline campaign for the Tennessee-based band, who have established themselves as one of the most influential acts in modern deathcore since forming in 2006.

Guitarist Alex Wade commented on the upcoming run:

“We are excited to announce the ‘Burn Forever European Tour 2027’. This will mark a long overdue full European headline run featuring some of the sickest names in modern metal. The mainland Europe dates we will be headlining while all of the UK dates we will be co-headlining with Sylosis with them closing. We look forward to seeing everyone out there, new fans and old, don’t miss it!”

Chaoszine caught up with the band’s vocalist Phil Bozeman on February 21 during the band’s previous visit to Helsinki to support Lorna Shore on their sold-out icehall show. In the interview, Bozeman discusses his journey as a metal vocalist, reflecting on the early days of Whitechapel, the evolution of his vocal style and the band’s latest album “Hymns in Dissonance”, released in 2025.

The interview is part of Chaoszine’s ongoing metal vocalist video series, where prominent singers from the heavy music scene share insights into their careers, techniques and artistic development. You can watch the full interview below.
