Copenhell 2023: couple gets engaged in death metal pit, crowd celebrates by performing a hug-wall of death

You never know what you’ll see at a metal gig. Sometimes near misses happen, like at a recent Trivium show. But instead of accidents, this year’s Copenhell Festival in Denmark saw at least one heartwarming event.

One concert-goer knelt down in front of his partner to propose to him in the middle of a Wall of Death during a death metal gig performed by Strychnos. The proposal was successful, and the audience began to applaud.

When the time finally came to start the wall of death, other members of the audience rushed in to form a group hug instead of the usual bumping.
