Comeback Kid returns to studio with eighth album in progress

Canadian melodic hardcore band Comeback Kid confirms they are currently in the studio. The band is working on their eighth album and the follow-up to 2022’s “Heavy Steps.” Vocalist Andrew Neufeld shared an initial track list for the record via his personal Instagram story.

The studio announcement arrives after a busy 2025. The band marked the 20th anniversary of “Wake The Dead” with a full re-recorded version. A tour across the United States and Canada followed. No release date or title for the new album is confirmed yet.

The band formed in Winnipeg in 2002, when Neufeld and guitarist Jeremy Hiebert launched the project alongside their then-band Figure Four. Since then, they have built a seven-album catalogue on Nuclear Blast and Victory Records. Their 2005 album “Wake The Dead” established them as a staple of the melodic hardcore scene.
