With a video posted on their Instagram account, amongst other social media platforms, the American-Norwegian industrial metallers Combichrist announce the departure of their drummer Dane White. The reason given for Dane White’s departure is his impending fatherhood. Dane White himself, whose son is due in August 2025, comments on his exit as follows:

“Hi friends, As of this weekend at Rockharz, I have played my last show with Combichrist, and have decided to step down as the band’s drummer. It was a gorgeous day rocking in front of 25,000 people, and a perfect end to this chapter. It was a difficult decision, and it was not made lightly, but nevertheless, it’s time for me to move on. I wish Combichrist nothing but the best moving forward, and I want to sincerely thank Andy for letting me have a small part in his band’s history. I was a kid with no real credits who took a shot in the dark to get an audition, and he took a chance on me. That changed my life, and I am truly grateful. Thank you to my boys Eric, Jamie, and Elliott for your friendship, and rocking stages with me all over the world. And of course, to all the fans who welcomed me, supported me, and grew with me, it has been my privilege to perform for you these last 6 years. Thank you!”

Dane White emphasises that this “is NOT the end of my musical journey”:

“I still fully intend on doing everything I said I would do, and I’m excited to see how that unfolds. See you in the next chapter! Love, Dane White”

Dane White will still appear in Combichrist‘s upcoming music video, for which no further details have been revealed yet. Furthermore, the band has announced the winner of frontman Andy LaPlegua’s stage vest in a separate video.
