Colossal Rains hit hard with their new single “Deadlights”

Philadelphia heavy crew Colossal Rains return with their new single “Deadlights”, and the track shows how driven the band sounds as they move toward their debut album “Feral Sorrow”. The album will be released on January 23, 2026 through Memory Music.

The band features vocalist/guitarist George Hirsch (ex-Blacklisted, Harm Wülf) alongside guitarist David Walling (ex-Blacklisted). Bassist Jon‑Michael Dean (ex-Year of the Knife) and drummer Tyler Mullen (Gridiron, ex-Year of the Knife) complete the lineup. The synergy among members who’ve cut their teeth in hardcore gives the song weight and texture.

Hirsch drew inspiration from the Blade Runner poster above his desk, since it sparked thoughts of escape and the uneasy urge to chase a different life. That idea cuts through the lyrics, and it adds a restless edge to the song. Because the theme feels personal, the track hits even harder.

“Deadlights” opens the track list for “Feral Sorrow”, so it sets the mood for what follows. The band builds tension with steady pacing, and the chorus arrives with rough emotion instead of clean polish. As a result, the single feels honest and heavy. It also signals that the full album will blend atmosphere with grit in a way that fits their sound.
