Jami Morgan, vocalist of US metalcore band Code Orange, has confirmed that the band is currently on hiatus – and for good reason.

In a recent Nik Nocturnal podcast episode, Morgan opened up about the band’s situation. Although he said he was extremely pleased with the band’s latest album “The Above”, there are no plans for the future at the moment. Morgan described feeling great artistic fulfilment with the album, while admitting that the band is now “shelved”.

He suggested that there were many reasons for the decision and hinted that listeners could deduce for themselves the reasons behind the situation. Morgan described the situation as if things had gone differently – in the right and proper direction – the band would have continued. As this was not the case, the band decided to stop before things went wrong. He stressed that Code Orange will never fight against the tide, but would rather stop proudly than continue for the wrong reasons.

Morgan also wondered that with time, the band’s music and artistic contributions might gain more appreciation. He still strongly believes that Code Orange has always been a pioneer and says he is extremely proud of the band’s achievements and dedication.

Late last year, the band’s guitarist Reba Meyers moved on to new challenges by joining Marilyn Manson’s live line-up. In an interview, Meyers commented that she was proud to represent forgiveness and admitted that the decision caused a lot of reflection. He said it was a unique opportunity to promote growth and understanding, despite the sensitivity of the subject and the mixed reactions.
