Due to unforeseen circumstances we unfortunately have to cancel our upcoming August European tour. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The American deathcore group Chelsea Grin is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The group was founded in 2007 and has since released seven full-length albums and two EPs. Since 2018, the band has lost all of its original members. Bassist David Flinn is the only member who has consistently appeared on all of the group’s studio albums, despite not being part of the initial lineup. Ahaziah was the original name of Chelsea Grin. Lead guitarist Michael Stafford, bassist Austin Marticorena, guitarist Chris Kilbourn, and vocalist Alex Koehler made up the lineup for Ahaziah. Chelsea Grin changed their name to Chelsea Grin shortly after Marticorena brought Andrew Carlston to the band and helped with songwriting and new material production.
The songs on their first release, a self-titled EP that was streamed and made available online via iTunes before being released on CD globally on July 27, 2008, were the result of this composition process. The songs “Crewcabanger” and “Lifeless” were released as singles early in the band’s history, and both were well-received by Myspace listeners. Later, the band tried to add a third guitarist, which resulted in the hiring of Dan Jones and David Flinn. They then wrote their full-length album “Desolation of Eden” (2010), followed by “My Damnation” (2011), and finally an EP called “Evolve” (2012).
