Cemetery Skyline deliver Nordic Gothic to Debaser

Debaser welcomed two very different acts on May 12th, with Cemetery Skyline headlining a night of dark and melodic metal alongside Royal Sorrow in support.

The Finnish progressive metal band Royal Sorrow opened the night and brought a mix of modern metal and melodic passages that warmed up the crowd before the main act.

Cemetery Skyline came on and the night changed tone. With members from Dark Tranquillity, Amorphis, Insomnium, Sentenced and Dimmu Borgir on stage, the weight of that history was present in every song. Mikael Stanne was already chatting with fans before they even hit the stage, no barriers, no distance, and that warmth carried through the whole set. Every other member matched that energy, and “In Darkness“, “The Coldest Heart” and “Violent Storm” were the moments the crowd had been waiting for, with fans singing along loudly.

Dim lights, dark melodies and a crowd that stayed with the band until the very last note.
