With the release of their new “Dead End Residents” music video on June 4th, Californian deathgrinders Cattle Decapitation have given their 2023 album “Terrasite” one last push, as per theprp. The song’s live performance-themed video was directed by Nox Nohi. According to current plans, the band will start recording their follow-up to “Terrasite” in January 2027. Vocalist Travis Ryan stated the following about their ninth full-length album and this video for the time being. Cattle Decapitation will co-headline this year’s “Flatline Fest” in Denver, Colorado on June 15th, as Ryan previously mentioned. Producer Dave Otero is in charge of that event, which features a number of artists he has collaborated with throughout the years.
We’re now sending ‘Terrasite‘ off to go live with the rest of our discography, so as a going away present for our fans we present to you the ‘Dead End Residents’ official music video that was shot live during our European tour last year as well as some footage from the No Fear For Tomorrow‘ tour. After the Flatline Fest later this month, we’ll be going into a short hibernation mode to finish writing our next album which we’re already many songs deep into! We hit the studio in January, so we’ll see you sometime next year!
In 1996, Scott Miller (guitar and vocals), Gabe Serbian (drums), and Dave Astor (bass) created Cattle Decapitation. “Ten Torments of the Damned” was the band’s debut demo, released in 1996. Around 1997, Scott Miller quit the group; Gabe Serbian took over as guitarist and shared drumming responsibilities with Dave Astor; Travis Ryan became the new vocalist. They recorded their debut EP, “Human Jerky,” in 1999, and their second EP, “Homovore,” in 2000. Recording engineer Jeff Forrest worked at Double Time Studios to record the two EPs. In order to concentrate on The Locust, Gabe Serbian departed the band in 2001.
