Dutch symphonic black metal outfit Carach Angren have released “The Resurrection of Kariba“, a new track from their impending EP “The Cult of Kariba”, due October 17 via Season of Mist.

The EP continues a thread first explored on their 2008 album “Lammendam”. Carach Angren rework and expand the lore of the “White Lady” myth from Schinveld, now entwined with a figure called Kariba: a poisoner and alleged witch. In “The Resurrection of Kariba“, they delve into the ceremony intended to awaken her, also exploring her backstory and the emotional and supernatural forces behind her execution.

Notably, the lead single from the EP, “ik Kom Uit Het Graf” (“I emerge from the grave”), is Carach Angren’s first song written fully in Dutch. That song tells of a man poisoned by Kariba who is resurrected by a cult ritual. Its music video was directed by Zoran Bihac.

The band continue to combine their signature orchestral arrangements, horror-story style lyricism, and blackened aggression on this release, aiming to build on their established strengths while exploring new narrative terrain.
