Germany’s long-running metalcore force Caliban has dropped a fierce new single, “You Only Live Once.” The track is a powerful cover of the deathcore anthem originally released by Suicide Silence in 2011 on their album “The Black Crown.” The version keeps the energy and aggression of the original but adds their own sharp precision and melodic grit.

This release comes during an already strong year for the band. Earlier in 2025, Caliban released the album “Back From Hell,” which reaffirmed their status as one of Germany’s top metalcore acts. Because of that momentum, their take on “You Only Live Once” feels like both a tribute to a classic and a statement of strength between album cycles.

The cover captures the intensity of Suicide Silence’s version while adding Caliban’s signature bounce and tight production. In addition, Andreas Dörner’s growls bring a harsher edge, and the guitars hit with thick, precise tone. The mix keeps things polished yet heavy, showing that Caliban can honor a classic without losing their own identity. The single is available now on Spotify and other major streaming services.

Hailin from Essen, Germany the band has been shaping the European metalcore scene since the late 1990s with crushing riffs, melodic hooks, and a constantly evolving their sound. Because they continue to grow and experiment, this cover fits naturally into their current era. It bridges the past and present with pure energy and conviction.
