It looks like Beartooth lead vocalist Caleb Shomo removed his official Instagram account, as per theprp. Shomo has recently been the focus of significant criticism due to his abrupt image change in the music video for the band’s most recent single, “Free,” albeit it is unknown why it was removed. Since the video’s release last week, he has been the focus of numerous homophobic remarks, some of which have reportedly also appeared on his wife’s social media accounts. Beartooth‘s first release since joining Fearless Records is that song. Chris Fronzak, the vocalist of Attila, is one well-known figure in the metalcore community who is said to have taken aim at Shomo. Following Shomo’s account deletion, Fronzak made two contentious posts on X.
Beartooth is currently on tour.
