Burton C. Bell (formerly of Fear Factory) is working on new solo music

Author Benedetta Baldin - 21.1.2026

Recent recording sessions for Burton C. Bell‘s self-titled solo project have resulted in the creation of new songs, as per theprp. Henrik Linde, the guitarist and bassist for the former Fear Factory singer, can be seen laying down his parts on an upcoming song in the video below, which he posted yesterday, January 19. Bell started this musical endeavor in 2024 and has already released three tracks.

Bell was a member of the band Hateface before his part in Fear Factory. After Hateface broke up in 1989, Dino Cazares, his roommate, asked him to meet Raymond Herrera, a drummer, with whom he might collaborate. Bell, Cazares, Herrera, and Romero first performed together in a South Los Angeles studio on October 31, 1990. Before Fear Factory momentarily broke up in 2002, the group completed four studio albums. In 2004, the band reconvened, with Byron Stroud playing bass and Christian Olde Wolbers moving from bass to guitar. Two albums were recorded by this lineup. After resolving their differences during the band’s subsequent period of inactivity, Cazares and Bell agreed to revive Fear Factory in 2009.

From the band’s debut demo in 1991 until their eleventh studio album, “Aggression Continuum” (2021), Bell is the only member to have appeared on every Fear Factory record. Bell and Cazares were given the Revolver Golden Gods Icon award in 2012.

On September 28, 2020, Bell announced his departure from Fear Factory after 31 years as the band’s frontman. He cited a “consistent series of dishonest representations and unfounded accusations from past and present band members” as well as a violent dispute with Cazares. But his voice may be heard on their tenth studio album, “Aggression Continuum”, which was finished in 2017 but wasn’t released until 2021.

Bell and a group of Australian musicians played the Fear Factory song “Replica” in Sydney on June 16, 2021. This occurred following his DJ performance at a nearby venue.
