Bruce Dickinson to release a new chapter for his novel “The Mandrake Project”

Bruce Dickinson, the leader of Iron Maiden, was working hard on the next book of his critically acclaimed graphic novel tale “The Mandrake Project” while on a solo tour of North America in 2025, as per Blabbermouth. As the second volume delves deeper into a realm of strange and magical craziness, readers’ preconceived notions about Dr. Lazarus and the world of Necropolis will be completely upended. Z2 is now pleased to announce that “The Mandrake Project: Year Two” will soon be released, as the struggle between science and magic to govern immortality intensifies to the point of hallucinogenic frenzy.

Beginning with a near-death encounter that sends Necropolis into a parallel universe where he discovers the sinister secrets of his perverted family tree, he is confronted with startling revelations that make him question whether he can break free from the family’s legacy of self-destruction motivated by ambition or if he is merely a cog in a larger cosmic machine under the control of supernatural forces.

The 184-page book also features a comprehensive collection of articles and interviews detailing Dickinson‘s life while touring in support of “The Mandrake Project” album in 2025, as well as insights from the creative team behind the creation of this next phase of the story. Introduced by “Anvil! The 12″ x 12” deluxe and platinum editions of Sacha Gervasi’s “The Story Of Anvil” come in a classy die-cut slipcase with a sealing ribbon and gilt paper trimming. Four new foil collectors’ cards and a new version of the antique metal “Mandrake Project” pendant carried by Dr. Lazarus in the comic are included in a holder inside the back cover of the enlarged deluxe and platinum editions.

In keeping with the custom of highlighting the inspirations found in the story of “The Mandrake Project,” “Year Two” also includes a lengthy piece about Wilhelm Reich, the sociologist and mystic whose contentious research resulted in his imprisonment by the FBI, where he passed away in 1954.
