Long-running titans of heavy metal Satan has stated that all of their planned shows for the rest of 2026 will be postponed due to frontman Brian Ross’s “major, life-saving preventative surgery” this spring, as per MetalInjection. Fans are disappointed by the news, but the band stressed that Ross’s health and full recovery come first. Satan will take a break from performing for the remainder of the year after the remaining Spanish shows this week go according to schedule.
Fans and friends,
With a heavy heart, we must announce a break from scheduled performances. Our singer, the inimitable Brian Ross, has just learned that he must have a major, life-saving preventative surgery in April/ May 2026. His recovery will take several months.
This sadly means that Satan is forced to postpone all planned concerts for 2026, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THIS WEEKS SHOWS IN SPAIN WHICH WILL GO AHEAD AS PLANNED.
This is not what we wanted, but we trust that you all want Brian to take care of his health, recover fully and come back stronger and more powerful than ever in 2027. Thank you so much for your unwavering love and support
In England, Satan was first created in 1979. The band’s lineup has changed several times, including their name. They were formerly known as Blind Fury and released one album, “Out of Reach”, in 1985, before changing back to Satan. Before disbanding in the early 1990s, the group released two albums under the new moniker Pariah after changing it in 1988. Pariah released a second album in 1998. Members of numerous other heavy metal bands, including Blitzkrieg, Atomkraft, Avenger, Persian Risk, Raven, Cronos, and Battleaxe, have been in the band’s rotating lineup. The UK thrash metal band Sabbat‘s frontman Martin Walkyier, guitarist Steve Ramsey, and bassist Graeme English formed the folk metal band Skyclad in 1990.
