Originally created in 1993 by former members of the band L.A.P.D. James “Munky” Shaffer, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, and David Silveria, Korn is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California. Shaffer (guitar), Brian “Head” Welch (guitar), Jonathan Davis (vocals), and Ray Luzier (drums), who last played with Silveria in 2007, make up their current lineup. The group is renowned for having invented and popularized nu metal. In 1993, Korn produced a demo tape called “Neidermayer’s Mind”, which was given away for free to record labels and to the general public upon request. 1994 saw the publication of their debut album “Korn”, and 1996 saw the release of their commercially successful single, “Life Is Peachy“.

Following the “Leader” (1998) and “Issues” (1999), which both debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, were the band’s first major hits. “Untouchables” (2002), “Take a Look in the Mirror” (2003), and “See You on the Other Side” (2005) all contributed to the band’s sustained popular success.
