Breaking Benjamin is a renowned American rock band formed in 1999 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, by lead vocalist Benjamin Burnley and drummer Jeremy Hummel. The band quickly gained traction with their debut album, “Saturate,” released in 2002, which showcased their signature hard rock sound and included hits like “Polyamorous.” Their follow-up album, “We Are Not Alone,” released in 2004, solidified their place in the rock genre, achieving platinum status and featuring chart-topping singles such as “So Cold.”
In 2006, the band released “Phobia,” which marked a significant milestone in their career, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and featuring the iconic single “The Diary of Jane.” This album not only showcased their musical evolution but also highlighted Burnley’s songwriting prowess, as he navigated personal themes through powerful lyrics. Following a brief hiatus, the band returned in 2015 with “Dark Before Dawn,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, further demonstrating their enduring appeal and ability to connect with fans.
The release of “Ember” in 2018 continued their legacy, featuring the hit single “Red Cold River” and showcasing a heavier sound that resonated with audiences. The band’s commitment to musical integrity and evolution has kept them relevant in the ever-changing rock landscape.
Most recently, Breaking Benjamin has been actively touring and working on new music, with their latest single “Awaken” released in October 2024.
