Experience, a fledgling hardcore band, said in a statement on April 6th that they plan to move forward with their debut album, “Stay Present”, as per theprp. Despite their guitarist Brady Ebert’s recent arrest for second-degree attempted murder and other charges, that decision was made. Only a few weeks after his contentious dismissal from The S.E.T., Ebert, a former member of melodic hardcore band Turnstile, revealed his involvement in Experience this past March. Before even releasing their debut album, the latter group ended up firing Ebert due to his “ridiculous comments and behaviour towards the members of our band and community.”
This past week, word leaked out that Ebert was detained on March 29, 2026, on suspicion of first-degree assault and second-degree murder for an unsettling event involving the elderly father of vocalist Brendan Yates, Ebert’s former bandmate from Turnstile. Ebert is still being held after being denied bail on April 2nd, 2026.
We want to address what’s been circulating this week.
What happened involving Brady is serious and deeply upsetting. Our hearts are with everyone affected. We don’t take any of this lightly.
At the same time, we’ve made the decision to continue moving forward with our release.
Our 12 song EP Stay Present was built around a simple idea facing what’s in front of you without running from it.
The record is split into four parts called movements
Reaction is impulse fast immediate
Control is where space shows up and decisions take over
Weight is pressure carried without noise
Awareness is clarity while still in motion
Every song lives in the present tense. No past no future just choices happening in real time. There’s no villain in this record. The struggle is distraction. The goal is awareness.
We’re still releasing the project as planned this June.
