Long-running French avant-garde black metal collective Blut Aus Nord are set to release their 16th studio album, “Ethereal Horizons,” through Debemur Morti Productions on November 28. This marks another evolution in the band’s decades-spanning career.

The album comprises seven tracks, beginning with the freshly unveiled single “Shadows Breathe First,” which also boasts a new video directed by Alex Morean. You can listen to the track below and on streaming platforms.

Pre-orders are currently active via Bandcamp and the band’s EU and US stores, with a range of formats including CD, vinyl editions, and digital options. One notable version is the exclusive Gatefold 2×12″ LP, pressed on green and yellow marble vinyl, accompanied by a 16-page booklet and download card.

Alongside the new album, the band has announced a special 2025 reissue of their acclaimed 2003 album “The Work Which Transforms God.” The reissue restores the original artwork and includes personal reflections from the band and their peers in a revised booklet and slipcase edition. In addition, “Hallucinogen” will also return in new CD and vinyl pressings, available for pre-order alongside “Ethereal Horizons”.

Rather than continuing the “Disharmonium” saga, the new record opens a fresh chapter described as richer, deeper, more enigmatic, and more human, blending earthy tones with futuristic soundscapes in a bold, expansive vision.
