Blackgold refuse to play with CKY in Bristol

American band Blackgold have released a shocking and unexpected statement about their show in Bristol that takes place tonight.

What’s happening people of Bristol? Unfortunately, we will not make the show this evening. We cannot do another gig next to the front man of CKY. We cannot support that type of narcissism.

Our whole touring crew just doesn’t want to be around it. We want to play for you guys and we do this for fun, but this has turned not fun. We cannot be around that guy, so unfortunately we are out.

We will be back real soon to play another show. We thought this was going to be fun, a little bit of nostalgia to end the year for us, but it turned out to be absolutely horrendous. We can’t support it, but hey, at least we got to see a really bad vocal cover of Bernadette Now, boys.

F*** Chad.

Blackgold is referring to CKY‘s frontman, Chad I Ginsburg. As of press time, CKY has not released any comments regarding this.

Originally, Fiend Without A Face was scheduled to accompany the band on their UK/Ireland tour, but plans were altered after guitarist and vocalist Brent Hinds, formerly of Mastodon, passed away on August 20.

We were supposed to be joined by our friend Brent Hinds and his band Fiend Without A Face on this run. Words can’t express how much we love and miss him, and we will be celebrating Brent every single night of this tour.
