American rock act Black Veil Brides have returned with a new single titled “Certainty”, which is out now alongside a cinematic music video. The track arrives as the band’s first release of the year and sets the tone for what they have planned next.
The song offers an early look at the group’s upcoming studio album, which is expected later this year. Musically, “Certainty” leans into darker tones and dramatic structure. At the same time, it keeps a sharp and modern edge that fits the band’s recent direction. As a result, the track feels both familiar and forward-looking.
Frontman Andy Biersack has explained that “Certainty” focuses on rigid belief and the danger of absolute conviction. According to him, guitarist Jake Pitts sparked the initial idea, and the band completed the song quickly. Because it came together late in the process, it helped define the wider concept of the album.
The music video expands on those ideas through symbolic imagery and intense performance shots. The band filmed the video in Colombia, using visual contrasts to explore fear and pride as connected forces. Because of that approach, the clip adds extra weight to the song’s message.
Since forming around Biersack’s original vision in Ohio, Black Veil Brides have built their career on theatrical presentation and strong fan connection. Over the years, they moved from DIY touring to platinum singles and major festival stages. They also secured multiple Billboard chart positions along the way.
