Finnish black metal act Black Pilgrimage has released a new single, “The Angels’ Melancholy,” as the first preview of their upcoming self-titled debut album. The track is available now on all major streaming platforms.

Black Pilgrimage hails from Turku, Finland, and plays atmospheric, raw black metal. The band formed after the dissolution of 359. While that group’s vocalist moved on to the noise project Contortus, the remaining ex-members recruited Ancient Fisherman, known from Reverend Bizarre and Azrael Rising, to handle vocals. That completed the lineup alongside PmH on electric and acoustic guitars, Aichon on bass and keyboards, and Risen on drums.

The debut album, “Black Pilgrimage,” drops on January 22, 2027 through Svart Records. “The Angels’ Melancholy” marks the band’s second single of the year, following “Liber Nigræ Peregrinationis.” The band’s very first track, “Contaminated by Evil,” arrived back in 2020.
