The legendary American punk band Black Flag is making a comeback with a new lineup. Founding guitarist Greg Ginn is joined by three new faces: vocalist Max Zanelly, bassist David Rodriguez, and drummer Bryce Weston. The band announced on social media that the new group is already in full swing in the studio and rehearsal space – new songs are being created and a tour is in the works.
The band was formed in Hermosa Beach, California in 1976 and is often considered the first American hardcore band. Over the years, members have included Keith Morris, Ron Reyes, Dez Cadena, and Henry Rollins. As recently as 2024, the lineup included, in addition to Ginn, Mike Vallely and the rhythm section of Harley Duggan and Charles Wiley.
In 2013, Ginn took his former bandmates to court when they toured under the name FLAG, but the dispute ended in a settlement – FLAG was allowed to use their name, and Black Flag continued with theirs.
