As actors continue to be reported for an impending series of The Beatles biopics, the band is slowly beginning to come together. Four different biopics on the The Beatles‘ members were reportedly in the works earlier this year. We may finally know the actor who will portray Paul McCartney in the biopics. The Hollywood Reporter claims that on Tuesday, filmmaker Ridley Scott went to see a showing of his most recent film, “Gladiator II”, in Los Angeles. Scott engaged in a discussion with fellow director Christopher Nolan during the event. Regarding his future aspirations to direct a movie called” The Dog Stars”, Scott was questioned about whether he would work with Paul Mescal again on that project.
Maybe. Paul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next. So I may have to let him go.
Before Scott’s remark, there were rumors that the Irish actor might play McCartney in the biopics. If the reports are accurate, we might be able to associate each member of The Beatles with one actor for the Sam Mendes-directed biopics that are coming up. It was announced last month that Barry Keoghan, who starred in Saltburn, has agreed to play Ringo Starr. Harris Dickinson (“The Iron Claw”, “Where The Crawdads Sing”) would play John Lennon, while Charlie Rowe (“Rocketman”) would play George Harrison.
