Between Cities release brand new single ‘Beyond This Grave’

Author Benedetta Baldin - 13.2.2026

Dutch duo Between Cities return with their brand new track ‘Beyond This Grave’, marking the beginning of a bold new chapter for the band. The track is one of the first songs recorded with renowned UK producer Dan Weller, known for his work with Holding AbsenceCaskets and Enter Shikari.

After years of self-producing their material, the band made a conscious decision to elevate both their sound and songwriting. Working with Weller proved transformative, helping them reinvent their identity and land on a sound that is both sonically heavy and emotionally resonant.

‘Beyond This Grave’ was co-written by Lucas Woodland of Holding Absence and captures the raw intensity of emotional betrayal. Lyrically, the song explores the feeling of being emotionally buried by someone you trusted, left alone to survive and carry the damage after they walk away. While deeply personal to the band, the theme is one many listeners will instantly connect with.

The single has already proven its impact in a live setting. During a recent EU tour supporting Australian post-hardcore band Hands Like Houses, ‘Beyond This Grave’ was performed live for the first time and quickly emerged as a crowd favourite, receiving an overwhelming audience response.

With this release, Between Cities confidently step into a new era; heavier, more refined, and emotionally uncompromising.

Between Cities is a Dutch alt-rock duo blending the emotional intensity of post-hardcore and emo with sharp, song-first pop sensibilities. Their sound is built around big, atmospheric hooks wrapped in heavy guitars. The band consists of vocalist/guitarist Nick Jongenjan and drummer/backing vocalist Gijs de Waal, who together have crafted a sound that is both cinematic and hard-hitting. Modern, heartfelt, and unafraid to blur genre lines.

Between Cities is determined to make more waves in the world of heavy music & to be loud about what matters.
