Bell Witch and Aerial Ruin return with doom-folk opus “Stygian Bough Vol. II” – European & UK tour set for early 2026

Author Teemu Hakala - 25.9.2025

Seattle-based funeral doom duo Bell Witch and Portland dark folk project Aerial Ruin are preparing the release of “Stygian Bough Vol. II” this fall via Profound Lore, the follow-up to their acclaimed 2020 collaboration “Stygian Bough Vol. I”. To mark the occasion, the two acts will also embark on a joint European and UK tour in early 2026.

The new album was teased with a trailer filmed by Bobby Cochran, who drew inspiration from Sergei Parajanov’s film The Color of Pomegranates. The dreamlike visuals are meant to mirror the ethereal qualities of the music, expanding on the doom and dark folk atmosphere established on the first “Stygian Bough” record.

The tracklist and release date for “Stygian Bough Vol. II” will be revealed in the coming months.

The tour will see Bell Witch and Aerial Ruin joined by 40 Watt Sun as direct support. Shows begin on January 26, 2026 in Warsaw and wrap up on February 14, 2026 in Hannover.
