Belgian post metal trio Pothamus has released the track “Heravis II.II (Let Light In)”, a track that longtime followers may already recognize. Although the song arrives as an official single now, the band previously used it as an intro piece during live shows supporting their 2025 album “Abur”.
Unlike the crushing weight often tied to their sound, “Heravis II.II (Let Light In)” leans into a calmer and more restrained mood. The track unfolds slowly, built around spacious textures and subtle rhythmic movement. As a result, it creates a meditative atmosphere rather than a towering wall of distortion.
That softer approach made the piece a fitting opener on the “Abur” tour cycle. Instead of hitting the audience with immediate force, Pothamus used the song to draw listeners inward. The tension rises gently, guided by layered vocals and hypnotic repetition. Therefore, the track functions as both a sonic gateway and a thematic bridge into the heavier material that follows.
While the band is known for dense riffs and ritual intensity, this release highlights another side of their identity. “Heravis II.II (Let Light In)” shows that Pothamus can command attention through patience and restraint just as effectively as through sheer volume.
