Babymetal collides with Slaughter to Prevail on ferocious new single “Song 3” – album delayed to August

Babymetal is back with a bang—and a brutal twist. The genre-defying Japanese sensation has dropped a fiery new single, “Song 3”, featuring none other than Russian deathcore heavyweights Slaughter to Prevail. The track is part of the upcoming album “Metal Forth”, which, after multiple delays, is now scheduled for release on August 8th.

“Song 3” is a sonic rollercoaster: blistering growls from Slaughter to Prevail meet Babymetal’s signature sugary hooks in a chaos-laced clash of styles. Adding an unexpected flavor to the mix, Trivium’s Matt Heafy joins in with a performance on the shamisen—a traditional Japanese string instrument that adds a haunting texture to the track.

Originally set for release on June 13th, “Metal Forth” was first pushed to June 27th and has now officially been bumped to August. Fans have already gotten a taste of the record through earlier singles like the hyperactive “RATATATA”, a high-energy collab with Electric Callboy, and the dreamy “from me to u”, featuring U.S. alt-pop artist Poppy.

“Song 3” will also appear on Slaughter to Prevail’s own upcoming album “Grizzly”, due out on July 18—meaning the explosive track is getting a double release across both bands’ albums.

Babymetal is currently tearing up stages across Europe, with their tour set to wrap up on May 30th, 2025, at London’s O2 Arena. From there, they head straight to North America, kicking things off on June 13th, 2025, at 713 Music Hall in Houston.
