There are plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the “Resident Evil” video game franchise in 2026 with a number of events, as reported by theprp. A recently revealed joint merchandise capsule with Japanese kawaii metal band BABYMETAL is one of them. Although not much is known at this time, Alcina Dimitrescu, the 2021 entry in the video game series “Resident Evil Village,” announces this new collaboration in the video below. “Resident Evil,” a classic survival horror film, has also made a successful foray into live-action movies, animation, and merchandise, the latter of which having strong connections to heavy metal. In addition to a primary theme and a number of Marilyn Manson songs, the official soundtrack for the 2002 movie adaptation of “Resident Evil” also included songs by Slipknot, Mudvayne, and other artists.

In Japan, the album entered at #1 on the Oricon Rock Chart, #1 on the Digital Albums Chart, and #3 on the overall Oricon chart.
