Strange things occurred during Guns N’ Roses‘ performance in the Estadio Huracán in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 18, as reported by theprp. After the band’s late 1980s hit song “Welcome To The Jungle” opened the show, Rose was spotted hurling his microphone at Isaac Carpenter’s drum kit, tearing off his jacket, and rushing to the side stage. Rose eventually addressed the audience, suggesting that the ire was attributable to a technical glitch. The context of his anger is unclear, though, because the film appears to be limited as of press time. Later in the act, Rose was also spotted walking up and violently kicking Carpenter‘s drum kit throughout the performance. This past March, Carpenter was formally accepted as Frank Ferrer’s replacement in the hard rock legends.
In more recent news, the sequel to 2008’s “Chinese Democracy” still seems to be up in the air, despite the fact that Guns N’ Roses have a sizable backlog of new songs in the works. The aforementioned album by the hard rock titans was notoriously delayed by about 15 years and was eventually released after the group was under tremendous duress from a slew of high-profile leaks. Guitarist Slash discussed the band’s current status with that record in a recent interview that appeared in the print issue of Guitar World.
There’s so much material at this point — it’s a matter of having the discipline to sit down and fucking get into it. But the thing with Guns is, in my experience, you can never plan ahead. You can never sit down and go, ‘We’re going to take this time , and we’re going to do this.’
Every time we’ve done that, it falls apart. It just spontaneously happens through some sort of inspiration that triggers it. And the next thing you know, It’s off and running. So it’s coming. I know it’s coming because everybody is thinking about it. It’ll just happen when it happens.
