Auri, led by Nightwish’s Tuomas Holopainen, embarks on Finnish tour in August

Author Arto Mäenpää - 26.11.2024

Auri, a band that paints magical atmospheres with its music, is a group consisting of Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas Holopainen, and Troy Donockley, which they first envisioned together in 2011. Auri was born from a need to find a creative channel free from the constraints of their main bands and their audiences’ expectations.

Auri was only able to introduce their debut album to the world in 2018, with the follow-up “Auri II – Those We Don’t Speak Of” coming in 2021.

With their third album, Auri will rise to concert stages for the first time in August 2025. Finally, the band can share their vision directly with their audience. Drawing from Celtic folk and cinematic pop, Auri is music that is difficult to explain in words. Come and linger for a moment in dreamworld adventures, where everyday things can momentarily transform into otherworldly wonders.

Kai Hahto, Johanna Iivanainen, and Mikko Iivanainen will join Auri as supporting musicians. The tour will naturally start in Kitee and conclude at the Helsinki Festival’s Tent Stage, where Eye Of Melian will open for Auri.
