Atlas release new single “Altar of Your Love”, new album “Sunder” due in February

Finnish modern metal band Atlas have released a new single titled “Altar of Your Love”, offering another look into their upcoming third album “Sunder”, which arrives on February 20, 2026.

The new track leans into a darker and more atmospheric direction. While heavy and brooding at its core, “Altar of Your Love” also carries a strong sense of melancholy and restraint. Lyrically, the song focuses on two people facing their inner struggles together, searching for salvation through trust, desire, and surrender. As a result, the track balances emotional vulnerability with crushing weight.

Vocalist Patrik Nuorteva delivers a deep and haunting performance that adds a distinctly gothic edge to the song. That cold, northern feel runs through the track, giving it a slow-burning intensity rather than relying on obvious climaxes. Even so, the band’s modern metal backbone remains firmly in place.

Meanwhile, Atlas have continued to build momentum on the live front. In the end of last year the band toured as an opener for Amorphis on their Finnish tour. In February the band will head to North America as a support for Orbit Culture and Ov Sulfur.

The upcoming album “Sunder” was mixed and mastered by Buster Odeholm, known for his work with Silent Planet, Vildhjarta, Born Of Osiris, and Thrown. Overall, the record continues Atlas’ path of blending modern metal intensity with a clear sense of atmosphere and contrast.
