At their summer tour this year, you can get the anniversary edition of “Sad Wings Of Destiny” by Judas Priest

The newly restored 50th-anniversary archival version of Judas Priest‘s “Sad Wings Of Destiny (Original 1976 Masters)” will be released in CD format exclusively at merchandising stands during Judas Priest’s “Faithkeepers” summer 2026 European tour, according to Exciter Records, as per Blabbermouth. This historic restoration, which was made to honour one of heavy metal’s most important and enduring albums, goes back to the original 1976 analogue stereo master tapes to present the album’s original mixes with remarkable fidelity and clarity while maintaining the sound, dynamics, and character that made “Sad Wings Of Destiny” a pillar of heavy metal history.
Under the direction of Tom Allom and Luie Stylianou, the restoration process started with the meticulous preservation and high-resolution transfer of the original analogue master recordings at British Grove Studios in London. Grammy Award-winning engineer Matt Colton then mastered the freshly restored audio at Metropolis Studios in London, maintaining the integrity and spirit of the original recordings. The band’s planned running order is also restored in this anniversary edition, which starts with “Prelude” and lets fans enjoy the album as it was originally meant in 1976.
