Asinhell, a death metal ensemble, features Michael Poulsen of Volbeat on guitar, Marc Grewe (associated with Insidious Disease and formerly Morgoth) on vocals, and Morten Toft Hansen (from Raunchy) on drums. The band has initiated the development of material for its second studio album, as per Blabbermouth.
According to a recent social media announcement by Grewe, the provisional plan is for Asinhell to record the successor to their 2023 release, “Impii Hora,” sometime this year.
“Impii Hora,” which translates from Latin as “Ungodly Hour,” was released in September 2023 through Metal Blade Records.
Poulsen has been a leading figure in Danish rock, primarily through his work with Volbeat for over two decades. The band has released nine full-length albums, achieved significant commercial success, and performed in large venues worldwide.
Prior to his tenure with Volbeat, Poulsen established the death metal band Dominus, which produced four intense and rapid albums during the mid-1990s.
During the production of Volbeat‘s 2021 album, “Servant Of The Mind,” Poulsen composed numerous death metal riffs and stored them on his mobile device. After completing the album, he revisited these riffs to craft material for Asinhell, whose “Impii Hora” album pays homage to his preferred old-school death metal influences.

We’re in the writing process with a new Asinhell Album also, so that will hopefully be recorded later in 2026 and I am also looking forward to play and record with Deimos Dawn this coming year!
A new Leper Colony Album is already recorded and mixed and will be released some time later in 2026…
