Apocalyptica: Tomorrow’s open air show in Chemnitz postponed at short notice

Author Stefanie Nysand - 9.8.2025

Sad news for Apocalyptica fans planning to attend tomorrow’s open air show by the Finnish cello rockers in the German city of Chemnitz: The event has been postponed at short notice.

“CHEMNITZ! We’re truly sorry to let you know that we won’t be able to play our concert at Wasserschloss Klaffenbach on August 10th. We were very much looking forward to this show. But we promise: We’ll be back in 2026! […] Thank you for your understanding and see you soon!”

The organiser cites “technical issues in carrying out the event, which are beyond the control of the venue and the band” as the reason. The date for the rescheduled concert in 2026 will be announced “as soon as possible”. Already purchased tickets remain valid for the new date but can also be returned to the point of purchase. Apocalyptica will perform tonight at the completely sold-out M’era Luna festival 2025 in the German city of Hildesheim. The next shows of their “Plays Metallica Vol. 2” tour will take place later this month in Turkey.
