Over the course of their decades-long existence, the yearly “Pinkpop” festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands, has been releasing a wealth of live footage. Professionally filmed 90s concerts from bands including Rage Against the Machine, Faith No More, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Rammstein, and others have been posted online as part of the opening of their archives. Pro-shot video of the final twenty-one minutes of grunge pioneers Soundgarden‘s June 8, 1992, set at the festival was officially uploaded on May 23. “Badmotorfinger” mainstays “Rusty Cage,” “Jesus Christ Pose,” and the non-single “Slaves & Bulldozers” are among the featured songs in the program that was shared. Although footage from that scene has been shared online before, this seems to be the first time it has been uploaded formally. With “Badmotorfinger” becoming gold in March of that year, Soundgarden‘s rise to mainstream stardom had only just begun at the time of this performance. This is the final segment of the performance that NTR recorded, according to the Pinkpop Archives channel. The final 21 minutes of the roughly 55-minute concert are what have survived. This piece of film comes at a very appropriate moment, as there are rumours that Soundgarden‘s final studio album is moving closer to a release date and that the band will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November.
