Anciients drop new music video for “Is It Your God”

Canadian progressive metal band Anciients have released a new music video for the track “Is It Your God” from their third full-length, “Beyond the Reach of the Sun,” as they prepare for their first U.S. tour in nearly eight years. The band, who recently won the 2025 Juno Award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year, will begin touring North America at the end of August.

The new video highlights one of the album’s most intense tracks. “Is It Your God” blends grungy grooves, faith-shaking death growls, soulful leads, and cosmic keys to explore the question of whether belief in a higher power is possible amid despair and anguish.

This long-awaited return to the U.S. marks a significant milestone for the Vancouver-based band, whose lineup currently features Kenny Cook (vocals, guitar), Mike Hannay (drums), Brock MacInnes (guitar), and Rory O’Brien (bass). “Beyond the Reach of the Sun” is their third studio album, following “Heart of Oak” (2013) and “Voice of the Void” (2016).
