Belgian post-metal band Amenra is making a comeback and will release two EPs “De Toorn” and “With Fang and Claw” on March 28th via Relapse Records. In the meantime, the band has released a new single “Heden”.

The new EPs represent different soundscapes, compositional styles and moods. They offer a journey into the band’s rawer early days, as well as a glimpse into the band’s future as one of the most captivating experiences in their genre.

Vocalist Colin H. Van Eeckhout says the “De Toorn” EP completes the “De Doorn” project that began in 2019. The album highlights the band’s cultural heritage and origins. Its cover art refers to the early days of the band and the “Mass I” album.

“With Fang and Claw”, on the other hand, explores the band’s earlier output and merges with the current essence, pointing the way to the upcoming “Mass VII” album.

Both EPs were recorded at the same time at the Ardennes studio in Belgium with the “Mass VI” album. Van Eeckhout says the EPs seem like a much-needed decision as the band prepares for a fresh start in a career spanning almost three decades.
